We know choosing the right belt size can be a bit of a hassle.

We use the international standard to size our belts as it is the only tried and tested way that ensure you purchase a belt that fits!

Please don't assume your belt size is the same as your pant size.

The sizing used is suitable for both men and women and it's as simple as measuring the circumference of your waist*.

For example:

If the circumference of your waist is 34 inches / ~86cm (*with pants on and measurement taken through the loops)- we recommend purchasing a size 34 belt.

Belts are measured from where the leather wraps around the buckle, to the middle hole.

To measure the circumference of your waist; get a piece of string or flexible measuring tape.
Wrap it around your waist just once, through the loops of your pants, and measure the length.

If this length is 34 inches or ~86 cm, we recommend rounding up to the nearest available size: in this case 34 inches.
If the length is 34.4 inches, we recommend rounding up to a size 36.
Always round up - Never down

Sizing to the middle hole ensures there is enough room to adjust if your body changes slightly.
Additional holes are spaced at 1 inch / 2.5 cm apart, meaning a size 34 belt will have holes spaced at 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36 inches from the buckle base.

If your sizing falls on an odd number round up to the nearest size.
eg. If your measurement is 33 inches, round up to size 34.

There are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Some pant manufacturers don't use the correct sizing, especially those from China, so it is best to physically measure your waist (*with pants on and through the belt loops) instead of relying on what's printed on the label of pants or other belts.
  • If you wear pants that are made from thick materials, this can increase the circumference of your waist considerably. This is why it is important to take your measurement with your pants and underwear on.
  • Never round belt sizes down. It is much easier to add a hole to a belt than it is to return and exchange a belt.
  • Leather belts will naturally stretch by around 3-5%. Each strap will exhibit different characteristics that we do not have control over. This is part of the reason why belts have additional holes for the variance in sizing and to allow for natural stretching.
  • In general, your belt size is one or two sizes larger than your pant size, but dont take our word for it. Measure it yourself to be sure.
